Carlsbad, Calif. – Clemson women’s golf recorded their second-consecutive 293 on Sunday to finish the first three rounds of stroke play in fourth place at the 2024 NCAA Championship, held at the Omni La Costa North Course (6,297 yards, par 72).
The course played particularly tough on Sunday, with Stanford being the only team to finish the day with a score under par (-3; -9 overall). Team leader Texas A&M finished the day at +1 (-10 overall), while LSU jumped into third with an even score (-1 overall) with Clemson three strokes behind at +2 overall (+5 today).
Following Sunday’s results, Clemson is one of 15 teams that advances to the final round of stroke play on Monday. Following Monday’s round, the top eight teams will move on to Tuesday morning’s match play quarterfinals. The Tigers are joined in the top 15 by fellow ACC members Duke, Wake Forest (defending national champion) and Florida State, as well as future ACC member Stanford.
For the third round this weekend, a different Tiger carded the lowest round for Clemson. Chloe Holder turned in a two-under-par 70, thanks in large part to four birdies on the front nine. Isabella Rawl rebounded from a disappointing day on Saturday to shoot a one-over-par 73, while Annabelle Pancake, who started the day in second place, finished at +3 and is now tied for 10th overall going into Monday’s individual finals.
Melena Barrientos finished the day at +3, while Sydney Roberts finished at +4.
The Tigers will fight for a spot in the top eight on Monday, teeing off at 11:25 a.m. local time (2:25 p.m. eastern time) and will be paired with Northwestern and UCLA. Northwestern is currently fifth overall, seven shots back of the Tigers, while UCLA is sixth, eight shots back.
Monday’s round will feature live coverage on the GOLF Channel, running from 6-10 p.m. as an individual champion will be crowned. Live scoring will be available on ClemsonTigers.com.
