CLEMSON, S.C. — Four Tigers travelled to Jacksonville, Fla. this weekend to compete at the UNF Invitational. The competition marked Clemson’s last before the spring season begins in January.
Samantha Buyckx, Eleni Louka, Cristina Mayorova and Jenna Thompson are the Tigers that made the trip. The weekend was highlighted by Louka winning her flight, going 3-0 on the weekend. The final match was won in comeback fashion, 4-6, 6-4 6-2.
Jenna Thompson also had a strong conclusion to her weekend, winning the final two of her three total matches. Sunday’s match against USF’s Grace Schumacher resulted in a 6-3, 7-6 Thompson victory. Buyckx split her two matches, winning the first 6-4, 6-2
Mayorova battled in the top flight, and fell in each of her two matches in hard-fought three sets.
