Tigers Finish Sixth in Rain-Shortened Gator Invitational

Gainesville, Fla. – Savannah Grewal made five birdies in Sunday’s second round to lead Clemson to a sixth-place finish at the Gator Invitational in Gainesville, Fla., at the 6,002-yard, par-70 Mark Bostick Golf Course. Initially scheduled for 54 holes, Saturday’s 36-hole day was washed out, so the field played 36 holes on Sunday.

As a team, the Tigers finished +22, just four strokes out of fifth place. Florida won the tournament on its home course at +3, followed by Mississippi State, UCF, Ole Miss and Arizona.

Grewal led the Tigers in the individual ranks, finished +2 and tied for 11th. The senior finished -2 in the second round Sunday to move up 17 spots after finishing +4 in the first round. Annabelle Pancake and Chloe Holder each finished tied for 27th at +6, as Holder finished the day at even par and Pancake finished at +2.

Isabella Rawl finished tied for 40th and Katherine Schuster rounded out the Tiger lineup, finishing tied for 51st.

Clemson returns to the course quickly, traveling to Mesa, Ariz., March 10-12, to defend last season’s team title at the Clover Cup.
