CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson volleyball team (9-5, 0-2 ACC) fell to Wake Forest (9-4, 1-1 ACC) in three sets on Sunday afternoon in Jervey Gym. The Tigers were led by juniors Cate Long and Camryn Hannah, who tallied 14 and 12 kills, respectively.

Coming out of the timeout, both teams traded points before Wake Forest capitalized on back-to-back attack errors by the Tigers to take the set 25-22.

The Demon Deacons jumped out to another early lead, but the Tigers strung together four-consecutive points with kills from Mckenna Slavik and Finney, a solo block from Finney and then a combined block by Hannah and Jacyn Bamis to even things at 9-9. Long continued to push the tempo for the Tigers serving her second ace of the match, but Wake Forest strung together scoring runs down the line and took the set, 29-27.

Clemson looked to respond in the third set jumping out to an 11-3 lead with Hannah, Long, Clark and Finney tallying kills. Wake Forest cut down the lead and eventually tied the match at 21-all. The two programs once again traded points with Hannah leading the charge with two kills, but it wasn’t enough as the Tigers dropped the third set, 28-26.
