Durham, N.C. – The Clemson men’s tennis team ended its run at the ITA Carolina Regionals on Monday. Doubles pair Gabriel Diaz Freire and Yizhou Liu fell in the quarterfinals to three-seeded Mac Kinger/Simon Soendergaard of North Carolina, 6-2, 6-0. Despite the loss, the duo had an impressive weekend, earning a 4-1 record including a win in the round of 16 over the No. 6 pair from South Carolina.
Diaz Freire, who posted an 8-2 overall record over the weekend, also looked impressive in singles action. The senior went 4-1 and advanced to the round of 16. The Tigers take a four-week hiatus from competition before concluding their fall schedule on November 18th at the Wake Forest Invitational.
