KNOXVILLE, TN – The Clemson women’s diving team is gearing up to re-enter the pool after a two-week break at the University of Tennessee Diving Invitational in Knoxville, TN this week. The three-day meet will commence on Thursday and includes a world-class field of 15 teams filled with zone qualifiers and United States Olympians.
“The UT invite is a great meet for our ladies to compete not only against many other ACC schools but also against many other schools that are in our NCAA Zone,” Head Coach Leslie Hasselbach Adams said. “It is another great competitive opportunity for our ladies to produce. Many of our ladies will be back in Knoxville to compete for a spot to go to NCAA’s. They need to use this meet as an early dress rehearsal for the zone meet in March.”
The Tigers enter the meet off of a competition against N.C. State on December 20 in which several student-athletes managed to qualify for the NCAA Zone Qualifying meet in March, which will also be held in Knoxville at the facility Clemson’s divers will be competing in this weekend.
Chelsea Uranaka and Megan Helwagen have posted qualifying scores in both the one-meter and the three-meter. Emily Howard has also qualified for the zone meet in the three-meter and is currently ranked seventh in the Atlantic Coast Conference in the event this season.
The University of Tennessee will have live video and live scoring updates on its athletics website throughout the meet.
