CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson men’s tennis team returned home to the Duckworth Family Tennis Facility in style on Friday evening, defeating South Carolina State by a score of 5-0. The match was the Tigers’ first at home since Jan. 29, and the win brought their record to 7-6 on the season. The Bulldogs fell to 0-7 with the loss.
Pierre-Louis Dodens and Jacob Jahn opened doubles play with a 6-2 victory on Court 2, which brought their dual-match record to 6-1 on the season. Teodor Giusca and Matteo Vialmin clinched the doubles point for the Tigers, winning 6-3 at No. 3 doubles.
Simon Baudry was the first of four consecutive singles winners for the Tigers, as he defeated his Bulldog opponent 6-1, 6-3 at No. 1 singles. Yizhou Liu followed with a 6-2, 6-1 victory on Court 2. Dodens clinched the team victory for Clemson, claiming a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 4 singles. Vialmin provided the final point and recorded his first career collegiate singles win, with a 6-3, 6-3 decision on Court 5.
