Tigers Battle but Drop Match to No. 19 Duke

DURHAM, N.C. – Clemson (10-10, 1-7 ACC) clashed with No. 19 Duke (15-5, 8-2 ACC) on Sunday afternoon in Durham but fell short, 4-0.

Duke began the match on a high note, winning on Court 1, but Teodor Giusca and Max Smith looked to counter as they continued their hot streak on Court 2. As they were up 5-3, Duke’s Dale and Zhang secured the doubles point with a 6-2 victory on Court 3.

The Blue Devils carried its momentum over into singles, picking up wins on Courts 3, 4 and 5 to take the match, 4-0.

Up next, the Tigers will travel once again to play Wake Forest on Friday, April 8 and NC State on Sunday, April 10. First serve against the Demon Deacons will be at 5 p.m., and the Tigers will take on the Wolfpack at noon.
