Tigers Add LSU Transfer Buyckx

Clemson, S.C. — The Clemson women’s tennis team has signed LSU transfer Samantha Buyckx, as announced by Head Coach Christy Lynch. Buyckx joins the Tigers after just one season in Baton Rouge, La. where she went 11-6 overall playing primarily No. 6 singles. The sophomore also went 9-4 overall in doubles. Prior to her time at LSU, Buyckx was named High School Player of the Year in Georgia out of Walton High School following the 2018 season.

“Samantha will be a great addition to our team,” said Lynch. “She has an aggressive playing style with a big upside to her game. We are really excited that she will be joining our team this fall and we look forward to her future as Clemson Tiger!”

Buyckx comes from a tennis family where both of her parents played at a high level. Her father, Maxime, played professionally in Italy while her mother, Kristin, played college tennis at both North Carolina State and Florida State.
