Tiger Volleyball Team Falls To North Carolina

Chapel Hill, NC – The Clemson volleyball team dropped a 3-1 (31-29, 25-30, 27-30, 17-30) decision to North Carolina Tuesday night at Carmichael Auditorium. The Tigers fell to 4-8 on the season and 0-5 in the ACC, while the Tar Heels improved to 12-3 overall and 5-0 in the league.

Four Tigers posted double-digit kills, led by Ryane Beasley with 15 and Jodi Steffes and Leslie Finn with 13. Finn led all hitters with a .333 hitting percentage (13-4-27). Freshman Lori Ashton tallied 10 kills, while hitting .286 on the night. Steffes led the squad in digs with 19, while Jessi Betcher added 12. Betcher also recorded 32 assists for Clemson.

North Carolina was led by Laura Greene who tallied 17 kills and 20 digs, while Nicole Reis added 12 kills. Eve Rackham had a match high 33 assists with 10 kills for the Tar Heels. Rackham also led the team in hitting .667 (10-0-15).

The Tigers (4-8, 0-5) will travel to Raleigh, NC on Sunday, October 7 to take on the Wolfpack in a 2:00 p.m. match.
