Women’s Distance Posts Trio of Top-10 Performances at Mt. SAC Relays

RESULTS

TORRANCE, Calif. – Clemson’s Morgan Wittrock, Mikie Harris and Erin McLaughlin ran personal bests, all of which are good for program top-10 times, Thursday evening at the Mt. SAC Relays in Torrance, California.

Wittrock (10:58.86) and Harris (11:21.27) both competed in the women’s 3000m steeplechase. Wittrock, who previously ranked sixth all-time in the event elevated to No. 5 all-time, while Harris cracked the top-10 list at No. 8. Wittrock and Harris placed 10th and 14th overall, respectively.

McLaughlin (35:04.27) ran the Tigers’ fastest time in the 10,000m since 2013. The senior shaved nearly a full minute off her previous best (36:01.72), which stood at No. 10 all-time. With Thursday’s performance, McLaughlin now ranks sixth all-time in the event. McLaughlin’s time Thursday would also earn Clemson three points at the ACC Outdoor Championships and would qualify her for the East Regional meet, based on last year’s results.

Up Next, Clemson is slated to compete at LSU’s Alumni Gold on Saturday, April 20 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
