Earlysville, Va. – The Clemson rowing team wrapped up its fall schedule on Sunday at the Rivanna Romp in Earlysville, Va. Nine total boats hit the water for the Tigers including two varsity eights, four varsity fours and three novice eights.
The 1n8 turned in the top performance for Clemson, placing third in the novice heat with a time of 15:05.5. In addition, the 2n8 (16:14.1) and 3n8 (16:58.3) took 10th and 11th, respectively.
In the varsity eight competition, the 1v8 posted the best time of the day of the competing Tiger eights after completing the course in 14:08.8. The Clemson 2v4 remained steady throughout its race, clocking first and second half splits with a difference of just three seconds. Finishing in 15:41.0, the 2v4 was the quickest four on the water for the Tigers and placed 10th in the heat.
With the conclusion of competition at Rivanna Romp, the Tigers are set to take a four-month hiatus before returning to Lake Hartwell to open the spring competition season with the Carolina Cup on March 7th. For full results click here.
