Ticket Operations Graduate Student Application

Job Description - Positions Now Closed for the 2025-26 Academic Year

The Clemson Athletics Ticket Office is a division of the Athletic Department at Clemson University and is responsible for all ticket operations at sporting events hosted by Clemson Athletics. Ticket operations include the following sports: football, men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, softball, gymnastics, women’s lacrosse, and men’s soccer. Ticket Office staff are generally responsible for providing assistance to the ticket office and its customers on game days, handling customer inquiries, the distribution of event tickets, and other tasks as needed.

Summary

Clemson University is seeking motivated individuals who want to earn an advanced degree in the classroom and receive comprehensive mentorship and exposure within the ticket operations field. Candidates will serve as primary sport contacts of highly visible, highly competitive programs, as well as serve in a support capacity with the department’s full-time employees. The students will be mentored by the Ticket Operations staff, with additional exposure to coaches, support staff, student-athletes and undergraduate students.

Interested students should have a bachelor’s degree in sports management, or another related field; excellent customer service skills; openness to learning new opportunities; and willingness to work evening, weekend and holiday hours.

Additional consideration will be given to those with experience using Ticketmaster or another ticketing system.

Throughout this experience, the student will be provided opportunities to apply concepts and theories from the classroom to an intercollegiate athletic environment. Opportunities include:

  • Serving as the primary ticketing contact for assigned sports and assisting on all Football game days.
  • Working collaboratively with marketing and communications units to develop full sales strategies and promotion plans.
  • Oversee all aspects of ticket operations in Ticketmaster for assigned sports. Learn how to set up a season, the events, the manifest, the price codes, and more in Archtics. Learn how to use Account Manager to set up sales pages. Learn how to use TM1 for gameday sales, reporting, and monitoring scan data.
  • Frontline customer service on game days and in the office by helping customers at the window and on the phones.
  • Lead, mentor, and student liaison for the 15+ ticket office students. Oversee planning and engagement opportunities alongside the Ticket Operations manager.
  • Maintaining relationships with external units, coaching staff, and administrators.
  • Supporting the overall goals of the ticket operations team as needed

Special Requirements: Interested students should have completed a bachelor’s degree prior to the start date; excellent communication (both verbal and written) across all levels of the department, and organizational skills; willingness to work evening and occasional weekend hours; demonstrated experience in leadership and working with and organizing groups of people; Applicants must be accepted to and attend graduate school at Clemson University.

Timeframe: Start: August 2025 – End: Graduation

Time Commitment: 30+ hours/week

Financial Aid: Graduate Assistant will have up to 9 hours of tuition and fees covered each semester and receive additional financial aid to help cover cost of attendance.
