Terps Top Tigers In ACC Volleyball Action

COLLEGE PARK, Md. — The Maryland women’s volleyball team defeated Clemson (3-1) 30-24, 30-18, 27-30, 30-21, Friday night in ACC volleyball action at Ritchie Coliseum. The Terps improve to 11-12, 7-8 in the ACC, while the Tigers fall to 9-16, 3-12 in the conference.

The Terps were led by junior outside hitter Carey Brennan with 24 kills and a team-best 15 digs and four blocks. Sophomore outside hitter Maria DiLivio recorded 17 kills and hit .333 for the match as the Terps as a team hit .325. DiLivio also chipped in with 11 digs and two blocks in a strong all-around effort. Junior setter Lindsay Davey led all players with 56 assists while also producing eight digs.

Freshman outside hitter Ryane Beasley led Clemson with 16 kills and seven digs. Freshman Leslie Finn and Lori Ashton added 11 and 10 kills, respectively, for the Tigers. Junior setter Jessi Betcher tallied 44 assists and 15 digs for Clemson.

The Tigers travel to Charlottesville, VA to take on the Virginia Cavaliers on Saturday night at 6 p.m.
