Ten Tigers Advance to Finals, Clemson Completes Day Two of Indoor Championships

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Clemson Tigers wrapped up the second day of the ACC Indoor Championships as they completed all the preliminary races and are set to compete in the finals on Monday, March 3.

At the end of day two, the Clemson men are currently tenth with ten points and the women are 11th with ten points.

Following today, ten Tigers have advanced to the finals in their respective events as Clemson will have 13 athletes total in the finals including those who advanced on Saturday.

MEET HIGHLIGHTS

  • Oneka Wilson finished first overall in the prelims of the women’s 60 meter hurdles as her time of 8.17 was the fastest of the day and qualified her for the finals
  • Sharvis Simmonds secured a spot in the finals for the men’s 60 meter hurdles as he ran a personal best time of 7.81
  • Tia Stapleton advanced to the finals of the women’s long jump as she jumped a personal best mark of 5.97m to finish seventh overall in the event
  • Nia Christie cleared 1.69m in the women’s high jump, which was her best mark of the season
  • Judy Kosgei qualified for the finals of the women’s mile as she ran 4:36.67 in the prelims to secure her spot in the finals
  • In the women’s 400 meters prelims, Shanque Williams ran 53.51 to secure a spot in the finals as she ran the seventh fastest time of the day. Kenya Thompson and JodyAnn Dixon recorded personal best times in the event as well
  • Aniyah Kitt and Aleksandra Stoilova both advanced to the finals of the 60 meters as they both are set to run in the 60 and 200 meter finals
  • In the women’s 800 meters, both Judy Kosgei and Gladys Chepngetich secured a spot in the finals as Kosgei ran a personal best time of 2:02.51, which improves her current time on the top-ten list as she sits at No. 5
  • Brian Kweyei and Blaik Slavinski both advanced to the finals of the men’s 800 meters
  • In the men’s heptathlon, Henry Gainer finished with 4562 points which is his best finish of the season and Camden Hayslett finished with 4450 points which is a new personal best

Up next, the Tigers will prepare for the third and final day of the ACC Indoor Championships as both the men and women will look to be crowned the 2025 ACC Indoor Champions.
