Ten Former Clemson Cross Country Standouts Named To ACC 50th Anniversary Team

Clemson, SC – Ten former Clemson’s men’s cross country athletes have been named to the 50th Anniversary All-ACC team, the conference announced on Tuesday. The former Tigers who have been named to the team consist of Larry Clark, Cormac Finnerty, Martin Flynn, Scott Haack, Jim Haughey, Kevin Hogan, Hans Koeleman, Dov Kremer, Jim Moorhead, and Julius Ogaro. Nine of the 10 members received all-district team honors during their collegiate careers, while three earned All-American accolades.

Larry Clark was an All-ACC honoree in 1987, 1988 and 1989, and was named to the all-district team in 1989. During Clark’s career at Clemson, he was a member of the two ACC Championship teams (1987,1988).

Cormac Finnerty was the 1991 ACC Cross Country Champion, and was the ACC Runner-up in 1992. He was also a member of the all-district teams in 1991 and 1992.

Martin Flynn, the 1986 ACC Champion, was also a member of the 1983 and 1985 All-ACC teams. He earned all-district honors in 1984, 1985 and 1986.

Scott Haack was a two-time ACC Runner-up, finishing second and earning All-ACC honors in 1977 and 1978. He was named to the all-district teams in 1977 and 1978.

Jim Haughey, a two-time All-American, was a member of the All-ACC teams in 1980, 1981 and 1982. He helped Clemson claim the ACC team titles each of those years (1980-82). Haughey was also a member of the 1980 and 1981 all-district teams.

Kevin Hogan was the 1994 ACC Champion, and a member of the 1992 and 1993 All-ACC teams. Hogan is one of two Tigers to earn all-district honors all four years (1991-94).

Hans Koeleman was a three-time All-American (1980,1982,1983), and a two-time ACC Champion (1982, 1983) while at Clemson. Koeleman was the ACC Runner-up and a member of the All-ACC team in 1981. He is Clemson’s only three-time district champion (1980, 1982, 1983), and earned all-district honors in 1981 to become Clemson’s first four-time all-district honoree.

Dov Kremer was an All-American for the Tigers in 1987 and 1988. He helped lead Clemson to the 1987 and 1988 team titles, winning the ACC individual crown in 1988. Kremer was a member of the 1987, 1988 and 1989 all-conference teams, and merited all-district honors in 1987 and 1988.

Jim Moorhead was a four-time All-ACC team member (1959-61). He finished fourth at the ACC Championships in 1958, eighth in 1960 and fifth in 1961.

Julius Ogaro was the 1981 ACC Champion, leading the Tigers to their fourth ACC team title. Ogaro finished fourth at the ACC Championships in 1984 and earned all-conference honors that year. He was an all-district honoree in 1980 and 1981.
