Swimming And Diving To Open Home Schedule

CLEMSON, S.C. – The Tiger swimming and diving teams will open their 2000-2001 home schedule this Saturday as they host the South Carolina Gamecocks. The meet is slated to begin at 12:00 p.m. at McHugh Natatorium. Clemson men’s and women’s swimming and diving is 1-1 overall and 0-1 in the ACC. Both Tiger teams defeated Virginia Tech but lost to the University of Virginia Oct. 27-28.

The Clemson men’s team returned 17 swimmers from last year’s team and added nine talented newcomers. The 1999-2000 squad finished seventh at the ACC Championships after posting a 7-2 overall mark and a 2-2 record in the ACC. The women’s team returned 25 swimmers and added 13 new freshmen. The Tigers finished with a record of 8-3 overall and 1-2 in the ACC before finishing third at the ACC Championships last year.
