CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams will travel to the University of Georgia to take on N.C. State on Sunday morning. The meet will begin at 10 a.m.
The meet was originally scheduled to take place in Clemson on Saturday morning, but ongoing repairs to the pool on campus forced the teams to move the meet to a neutral location. Clemson will still be the home team for the event.
“N.C. State and Clemson have been rivals for the past several years,” Head Coach Christopher Ip said. “The meets are always close, and they usually come down to the last relays. Most of the time, the team that has the homefield advantage wins, so this will be an interesting meet since it will be held at the University of Georgia. Our athletes understand that it will have to be a team effort, not just individual standouts, if we want to get in the win column.”
Clemson’s women lead the all-time series with N.C. State, 21-13, and have won five of the past seven meets between the two schools. The Wolfpack has beaten the Tigers in 41 of 54 all-time meets on the men’s side, but Clemson has closed the gap over the past decade by defeating N.C. State in seven of the past ten meetings.
