Tori Niemann

Tori Niemann returned to Clemson as Assistant Athletic Director/Director of Student-Athlete Development in May 2021.

Niemann will oversee all aspects of student-athlete development initiatives, such as community services and engagement, career development, the Tiger Leadership Academy, and the Tigers United programming, which is focused on Diversity and Inclusion programming for all Clemson Student-Athletes.

Niemann comes back to Clemson after spending two years at the University of North Carolina as the Director of Outreach, Alumni Relations and Administration for the women’s basketball program, while also serving as the program’s academic liaison. Under Niemann’s guidance, UNC women’s basketball increased its discretionary cash fund by $129,000 and grew its endowment to over $300,000. Niemann also developed an online hub for alumnae to share job and internship openings and apply for mentorship programs.

Prior to her time in Chapel Hill, Niemann spent two years as Assistant Director of Student-Athlete Development at Clemson. She coordinated all community service and engagement initiatives for the Tigers as well as assisting in professional, career and personal development. Among the events Niemann organized at Clemson were sport clinics for ClemsonLIFE students, Be A TIGER Field Day and Scout Day. She also coordinated international and domestic service trips for student-athletes. In her second year with the Tigers, Niemann facilitated 5,700 hours of service with 97 percent student-athlete participation.

Before Clemson, Niemann spent two years working at her alma mater, Western Illinois, as the academic coordinator for the football, women’s basketball, softball, volleyball, men’s soccer, and women’s soccer teams. She also served as the Life Skills Coordinator, organizing career, personal, and leadership development programming, and developed Women Empowering, an initiative for female student-athletes.

Niemann graduated from WIU in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. She went on to earn a master’s degree in sport management in 2015.

She played two years of basketball at the University of Missouri before transferring to WIU, where she was a two-year letterwinner for the Leathernecks. As a junior, she was named to the Summit League All-Newcomer Team and was honorable mention All-Summit League.

A native of Canton, Mo., Niemann is a member of Women Leaders in College Sports and N4A. She has participated in the NCAA Leadership Forum as a facilitator, the NCAA Leadership Academy Workshop and the NCAA Effective Facilitation Workshop.
