Position: Director of Physical Therapy
Ryan Ross joined Clemson as Director of Physical Therapy in October 2021. His primary role at Clemson is to provide rehabilitation services for student-athletes who are recovering from long-term injuries.
Prior to working at Clemson, Ross served as Assistant Director of Rehabilitation and Return-to-Play Specialist at Baylor University from 2018-21. His primary role was to coordinate long-term rehabilitation and re-integration into sport participation for football athletes. From 2016-18, Ross served as a seasonal intern with the Denver Broncos after experience with the team as a summer intern in 2015. Additionally, he worked as a staff physical therapist at Chattanooga Physical Therapy and Erlanger Hospital from 2012-16.
Ross is certified as a corrective exercise specialist from NASM and a certified strength and conditioning specialist from NSCA. His research article titled “Return-to-Play Considerations After COVID-19 Infection in Elite Athletes” was published in the Journal of Athletic Training in 2021.
Ross graduated from University of Tennessee-Chattanooga in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in movement science. He added a doctorate degree in physical therapy from University of Tennessee-Chattanooga in 2012 and a master’s degree in athletic training in 2016.
Ross is a native of Jackson, Tenn.
