Position: Director of Student-Athlete Wellness
LOGAN HARTNELL, Psy.D, HSPP
Dr. Logan Hartnell is a licensed clinical and sport psychologist who’s passionate about helping athletes and coaches thrive, both on and off the field. He earned his doctorate in clinical psychology from Adler University in Chicago and completed specialized training in sport performance psychology through his internship at Appalachian State University and postdoctoral fellowship at Ohio State University. Before joining Clemson as the Director of Student-Athlete Wellness, Logan served as UNC Charlotte’s first embedded sport psychologist, where he helped build a culture of care and high performance from the ground up.
Logan’s approach blends performance support and holistic wellness with a focus on connection, helping athletes align their mind and body, tune into their environment, and reconnect with their deeper sense of purpose. He’s known for using a good dad joke or pun to break the ice, and for diving into anything that sparks passion and drives growth.
He works with a wide range of performance needs and wellness concerns, but especially enjoys supporting resilience building, identity development, relationship navigation, and combatting overwhelming thoughts.
Outside of work, you’ll find Logan playing beach volleyball, reading, or hanging out with his dog, Kya.
