Katie Rovtar was hired by the Clemson Athletics department in July of 2015 as the primary athletic trainer for the men’s and women’s cross country and track and field program before shifting roles in 2018 to work as the primary athletic trainer for softball.

While at Clemson, Rovtar has maintained student-athlete medical files on Presagia InjuryZone System and assisted in creating an iron and vitamin D testing and supplementation protocol. She has utilized multiple manual therapy techniques in the treatment of soft tissue injuries. Prior to Clemson, Rovtar worked as an athletic trainer at Mississippi State for its men’s and women’s cross country and track and field program. She worked directly with five NCAA Champions, one USA Indoor Champion, three Olympic Qualifiers and two IAAF World Outdoor Championship Qualifiers.

Rovtar has also served as the Head Athletic Trainer with USA Track and Field during the 2017 Junior Pan Am Games and the 2019 NACAC U23 Championships. She served as the coordinator for the entire medical staff, which included doctors, athletic trainers, massage therapists and chiropractors and provided medical coverage to 84 competing athletes in 21 different events. She also was an athletic trainer at the 2016 USA Track and Field Thorpe Cup and 2015 Junior Pan Am Games.

Prior to Mississippi State, Rovtar worked at Jacksonville University with the volleyball and softball programs. Before that, was a graduate assistant at Virginia Tech. She spent two seasons with the Hokies working with women’s lacrosse, cross country and track and field programs. She graduated from VT in 2008. She graduated with her undergrad degree from the University of Toledo in 2006.
