Carmichael joined the staff as the director of volleyball operations in the spring of 2026. He manages the day-to-day logistics and operations of the program that includes travel and equipment.
Carmichael comes to Clemson after serving as the Director of Volleyball Operations at East Carolina University since October 2018. He developed and managed detailed schedules and itineraries for team events, coordinated logistical travel elements including hotel, ground and air accommodations around match schedules and supervised and mentored a team of four to six student managers to ensure smooth daily operations in a collaborative work environment. Alongside these tasks, he also utilized data and analytics using Volleystation to track and analyze team performance on the court during both practice and matches.
With eight years of DOVO experience under his belt, he assisted the ECU program by managing alumni relationships and recruiting items on official visits. He played a part in team community service initiatives, newsletters and social media efforts that enhanced engagement and collaborated with different departments from ticketing, compliance and business office to guarantee the program operated seamlessly. Carmichael also oversaw and ensured accurate inventory management of team gear and supplies for both the
Carmichael graduated from ECU in 2018 with a business management degree before pursuing a Master of Business Administration and graduate certificate in Sports Management in the summer of 2025.
