Andrew Long

Position: Assistant Coach, Sport Performance

Andrew Long joined the Clemson strength and conditioning staff in June 2024. He primarily works with the softball, men’s and women’s golf programs and is responsible for implementation of training programs based around different technology including but not limited to: 1080 spring units, VALD timing gates, gym-aware VBT units, Keiser squat units and Hawkin Force Plates while working in collaboration with the athletic training staff regarding protocols for return to play and injury prevention.

Prior to his time at Clemson, Long spent two years at CSU, Chico as a graduate assistant with their strength and conditioning department working closely with the baseball, softball and volleyball programs. Throughout 2021-2023, he worked with four different departments as an intern, including Butte College (2021), CSU, Chico (spring 2022), CSU, Sacramento (summer 2022) and Clemson (summer 2023). He also has experience as a personal trainer.

Long graduated with an associate’s degree in kinesiology from Butte College where he played college baseball. He obtained his bachelor’s in kinesiology, movement studies at CSU, Chico in 2022 before graduating with a masters in kinesiology – biomechanics from CSU, Chico in 2024. He is a certified strength and conditioning specialist through the NSCA and also holds a Level 1 Titleist Performance Institute certification and is CPR/AED certified. Long has also completed USA Weightlifting Certification (Level 1) and NASM Personal Training Certification.
