Associate Head Coach Bill Olin enters his fifth season with the Tigers in 2027 and his third as Associate Head Coach, a position he earned after just one year with the program.
Olin helped lead the team to back-to-back NCAA Sweet 16s and ACC Semifinal appearances in 2025 and 2026. The Tigers finished third in the ACC and Olin’s defense ranked second in the nation in caused turnovers Olin joined Kwolek for the inaugural season of Clemson lacrosse and has helped lead Clemson to a top-25 ranking in all four seasons, including top-10 rankings in each of the past two seasons.
The Tigers were ranked as high as No. 6 in the nation in 2025, and took down 4 top-15 teams, including No. 5 Syracuse and No. 9 Duke. Clemson went 14-7 with four of those losses coming to Final Four teams.
He coached 2025 All-Americans Natalie Shurtleff and Summer Agostino, 2026 All-Americans Teagan Scott and Emma Penczek and had 16 All-ACC selections over the last three seasons.
Olin helped secure the No. 1 recruiting class in the country, which took the field for Clemson in 2026. His defense ranked 13th in the nation in scoring defense, allowing just 8.43 goals per game.
Clemson is 52-26 in Olin’s three seasons on the sideline, taking down 10 NCAA Tournament teams over the past two seasons. In Olin’s first season in Clemson, the Tigers went 12-6 and finished the year ranked in the top-25. The Tigers ranked 6th in the nation in scoring offense and 8th in the nation in assists per game in their inaugural season. Clemson was ranked as high as No. 14 during its first season of lacrosse.
Olin came to Clemson after five years as the Associate Head Coach at Cornell. During his time at Cornell, Olin and Big Red won an Ivy league Championship and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
His team qualified for the Ivy League Tournament in two of his four seasons on the sidelines, and he helped develop six All-Ivy League defensive players, including 2017 conference Defensive Player of the Year and two-time All-American Catie Smith.
Olin was a head coach at Capital University from 2014-16. His 2015 squad won the OAC regular season championship in just the second year of the program’s existence. The team finished with a regular season record of 14-3, including 6-0 in conference play, before finishing as league’s tournament runner-up. Prior to his tenure at Capital, he was an assistant coach at SUNY Potsdam men’s lacrosse immediately following his playing career.
As a player, he was a four-year starting goalkeeper for the Rutgers Scarlet Knights, where he was a three-time ECAC Defensive Player of the Week, two-time Big East Defensive Player of the Week, and three-time All-ECAC Academic team member.
Bill and his wife, Katelynn, have four children: Findley, Brooks, Welles and Dempsey.
