In 2015-16: First Clemson women’s golfer to reach the NCAA Women’s Tournament…achieved that distinction with No. 5 finish at the NCAA Regional at Shoal Creek on May 7…had consistent tournament with scores of 74-75-74 on a course that had 79.0 average over three rounds…one of just four women to score 75 or better in all three rounds…led all 96 players in par four score scoring average with a 4.10 figure…finished 58th at the national tournament in Eugene, Oregon with a 221 score, five over par….had scores of 75-71-75…led Clemson team in stroke average as a freshman in 2015-16 with 73.36 average for 33 rounds…named to All-Region team and the Academic All-ACC team….also led team in rounds in the 60s with four and rounds at par or better with 13 and rounds under par with five…finished the season ranked No. 84 in the nation by Golfstat and No. 71 by Golfweek…tied Clemson record for rounds at 75 or better in a season with 25…played her 33 rounds at 48 over par for the year….did not miss a tournament or a round…best finish came at Yale in the fall when she was Co-Medalist with a 211 score, two under par…best tournament vs. par was at Briar’s Creek in the spring when she had seven-under par 209…that was second best 54 hole score in Clemson history…Clemson’s top player in three of the last four tournaments of the year…led team in scoring on par three holes (3.11), par four holes (4.15) and second on par five holes (4.87)…led team in birdies and eagles…had 108 birdies to break record that had been held by Ashlan Ramsey…had three eagles, but two of them came in the NCAA Regional…only player in the 96 player field with two eagles, only player with an eagle on a par four hole…in scoring both eagles, she made the shot from the fairway…led team in scoring in the opening round with Clemson record 72.45 and in final round at 73.50 (also a Clemson record)…her score counted towards Clemson’s team score in 29 of 30 team rounds…had best round of the team a team best 12 rounds, and was Clemson’s best player in six of the 10 tournaments…hit the ball in fairway 87 percent of the time and reached greens in regulation 71 percent of the time, best on the team…tied for team lead in top 10 finishes with three, but all were top five finishes…this year her +1.43 stroke average vs. par is second best in Clemson history behind Ashlan Ramsey’s +1.0 in 2013-14.
Before Clemson: A first-team Rolex Junior All-American in 2014, she was honorable mention in 2012 and 2013….ranked eighth in the Polo Junior rankings of August 15, 2015 as she enrolled at Clemson… won six AJGA titles over her career…comes to Clemson from Lexington High School in Lexington, S.C where she played for Brandon Smith…second in the Golfweek Class of 2015 juniors…played for the United States team in the Toyota Junior World Cup Series in summer of 2015…she finished ninth individually in that tournament with +6, 294 score…finished fourth in the stroke play and reached the quarterfinals of the North-South Amateur at Pinehurst #2 in July of 2015….won AJGA Girls Championship and the Wells Fargo Junior Classic in 2014…tied for sixth in the Thunderbird International Junior…second at the Polo Junior Golf Classic in 2014…qualified for the U.S. Girls Junior Championship three times….her high school team won state 4A championship her last three years….she won individual title as a junior and senior… finished fifth in the Boys state 4A championship as a senior with a147 score in the event held at the Furman University Course…named to the girls and boys South Carolina 4A All-State team, believed to be the first person to do that in history of South Carolina high school golf…named all-state in girls division five times….finished 20th at the Boys state championship as a junior….has played well at Furman’s course, she won the AJGA Girls Championship there by three shots in September of 2014…appeared in Sports Illustrated Faces in the Crowd after shooting back to back course record scores of 66 at Hartsville Country Club…reached the Final 32 of 2014 US Women’s Amateur…instructor is Kenny Britt, who also instructed Dustin Johnson when he was a youth.
