In 2015-16: Clemson’s first winner of the Byron Nelson Award, an announcement  made April 20, 2016…the award is presented to the top college golfer in the nation in terms of performance on the course, in the classroom and in the community…award is given annually by College Golf Coaches Association…recipient of the ACC’s Men’s Golf Scholar of the Year, the first Clemson golfe to win the award…..graduated in May of 2015 with a 3.93 GPA in Accounting…academic All-ACC four years in a row, he joined Crawford Reeves as the only Clemson golfers to do that…played his final year as a graduate student..began  employment with accounting firm in Atlanta in July 2016 and will not turn professional…winner of the Elite 90 Award, which is presented to the student-athlete at the NCAA National Championship with the highest grade point average..had 4.0 in the spring semester this year…also a first-team Academic All-American according to CoSIDA…second-team All-American on the course by Golfweek and third-team selection by Golf Coaches Association…first-team All-ACC in 2016…also the recipient of the Solid Orange Male Athlete of the year at Clemson, an award that goes to the student athlete who is outstanding in competition, in the classroom, community service and sportsmanship…Clemson’s leader  in stroke average with a 71.93 figure…that included a 20th place finish after 54 holes of the NCAA National Tournament in Oregon…one shot from continuing to the fourth round…also led team in top 10 finishes with five, e most rounds in the 60s with eight, and tied for lead on the team in under par rounds with 13…had five top 10 finishes, four have been in the top five…second at Carpet Classic, fourth in Puerto Rico, fifth at Bandon Dunes and third at Clemson Invitational…Clemson’s top player at NCAA Regional with an eighth-place finish at the Stillwater Regional…finished his career strong with top 20 finishes in six of his last seven events…actually finished in top 16 in eight of 11 events his senior year…his 66 at Bandon Dunes on March 7 was the low round of the year by a Tiger….model of consistency, 30 of his 33 rounds were at 75 or better, and his score  counted 31 of 33 rounds this year…for his career, 120 of his 129 rounds counted…he is second in school history in percentage of rounds counting towards the team score with 93 percent….ranked seventh in Clemson history in career stroke average at 72.46, just a bit better than the 72.47 by PGA Tour player Jonathan Byrd (Clemson Tiger 1997-2000)….his career best round was 65 at the Palmetto on 3-12-13.. played well at the ACC Tournament at the Old North State, he finished in top 15 three years in a row and shot the identical 24 score all three years….ranked 28th by Golfweek, 33rd by Golfstat and 34th in the US according to the Golfweek Amateur rankings ….four year starter who led Clemson in scoring three of those four years…Behr was first Tiger to lead team in stroke average as freshman and sophomore  that since Kyle Stanley in 2006-07 and 2007-08…Kevin Johnson (1985-86, 1986-87)  is only other Clemson golfer to do it since freshmen became eligible for the 1972-73 academic year….finished career with 384 birdies and four eagles….his birdie total is ninth best in Clemson history.

Summer 2015:  Played in just two events…shot 145 after rounds of 72-73 at US Amateur qualifier, he finished 15th at his site…had top 10 at the South Carolina Amateur where he was an even-par 288…finished second among Clemson golfers at the event with the even-par score at Chanticleer Country Club in Greenville…his best round was third-round four-under-par 68.

The 2014-15 Season: Fourth on the team in stroke average at 72.43, he played in 13 of the 14 tournaments and 37 of the 40 stroke rounds…played all 16 rounds in the fall despite fighting a wrist problem that required surgery in December…Mr. Consistency, his score has counted in all but one round (first at Yale) this year, 36 of 37…that is the best percentage on the team…had a team best third place finish at the Hummingbird, where he shot a 69 in the only round played of the weather effected tournament…had his best tournament of the fall in terms of score at the Primland where he had a seven-under-par score of 209,……he had a final round 66, second best round of the weekend by a Clemson golfer and second best round of his career…playing number-one, he beat Joe Lewis of Mississippi 4 & 2  at the Dick’s Challenge Match Play, helping Clemson to a 3-1-1 win over the Rebels…shot par or better in six of his 13 events this year, including -2 at the ACC Tournament…might have been his best tournament of the spring, he finished 14th with that 214 score after rounds of 70-73-71…in nine postseason rounds (ACC and NCAA) he has scored 72 or better four of the nine…had a pair of even par 72s at NCAAs in Chapel Hill…had six rounds in the 60s this year including two at the Palmetto when he finished 15th with season best 208 score on the par 70 course… had a stretch in the fall with eight straight rounds of  73 or better and five of them at 72 or better…Clemson’s second best golfer at U.S. Collegiate with a 218 score…had a 72.3 stroke average in the first round of tournaments and 71.9 in the final round…had final round 73 at NCAA National Tournament, the top round by a Tiger…had  106 birdies this year and 283 for his career…has solid 4.03 stroke average on par four holes and 4.81 on par fives…hits greens in regulation 76 percent of the time, best on the team.

Summer 2014:  Shot 141 total for 36 holes at US Amateur qualifier to finish 17th in the field…finished 35th at South Carolina Amateur with a 223 score…had consistent rounds of 75-75-73….in New York for an internship with a corporation so he did not play much golf.

In 2013-14:  Led the Tigers in stroke average with a 72.57 figure…he and Miller Capps were only players to appear in every tournament…actually led the team in rounds played with 30…a most consistent player who shot 75 or better in 25 of his 30 rounds, best percentage (.833) on the team…tied for team lead in rounds in the 60s with five, including a pair of 69s at the ACC Tournament April 26-27…four of his five rounds in the 60s came in the spring…had five of the top 12 rounds vs. par on the team…had season best 67 at the Dick’s Challenge on September 22, his final round of that event…was on his way to great tournament in the spring at the Linger Longer after rounds of 70-68 to start, but he was ill and could not play the final round…had he finished at -6 would have been his second best tournament vs. par as a Tiger… had a pair of top 10 finishes, ninth at the Cleveland Golf and eighth at the Wolfpack Challenge…added  two more top 15s,  a 12th place at Dick’s Challenge and 14th at ACC Tournament…led the Tigers in first round scoring average by far with 71.70…also tops on team in par three scoring average at 3.1…that was 11th best in Clemson history and best since Jacob Burger had 3.03 in 2009-10… also led team in  par four scoring average 4.14…had team best 97 birdies…also led the team in pars/round with 11.83…Clemson’s best player at three events and had the best round of the day 10 times…led team in greens in regulation at .676…had 73.17 stroke average for the fall and 72.17 for the spring.

Summer 2013: :Played in four major amateur events…had his best performance at the South Carolina Amateur, he finished fourth with an eight-under-par 276 score…that included a 64 in the second round, the best round of the tournament for any golfer by two shots…also had third round 67…started summer with 13th-place finish at the Palmetto, he was consistent, 70-72-70 for two-over-par 212…finished 30th at the Rice Planters June 20-22…had final round 68 to get to even-par 216 for the 54 hole event…finished 10th at his US Amateur qualifier with 144 score…finished 51st at the Players Amateur with 222 score, but finished strong with two under par 70.

In 2012-13:  Led Clemson in stroke average, best average vs. par and tied for team best in top 10 finishes with three…had seven rounds under par, second best on the team, and nine rounds at par or better, also second best on the team…led the team in scoring average in the first round at 72.30 and in the final round with a 72.50…second on the team in stroke average on par five holes with 4.82 figure…his score counted in 27 of 29 rounds, the best percentage on the team…had best score of the day 10 times, most on the team and his score was the best in four of the 11 tournaments, also best on the team…reached the green in regulation 64 percent of the time, second best on the team…had a 65 on March 12 at USC Aiken Cleveland Classic, best round of the year by a Clemson golfer by two shots…that was one of his four rounds in the 60s in 2012-13…scored a seven-under-par 209 at the Carpet Classic in his first career tournament, low tournament of the year by a Tiger…finished fourth individually at the Carpet Classic…the first Clemson freshman to score under par in all three rounds of his first tournament (at Carpet Classic), and is the first Clemson freshman to finish in the top four of his first career tournament since Ben Martin finished third at the 2006 Carpet Classic….tied Alabama All-American Bobby Wyatt, and defeated two other Alabama All-Americans, Justin Thomas and Cory Whitsett…. also beat then reigning US Amateur champion Steven Fox by 10 shots….his final round 69 at the Carpet tied for the best of the day among the 78 golfers….then finished seventh at the Fighting Illini Classic with 214 score…first Clemson golfer since Michael Hoey (1998-00) to finish in the top 10 in each of his first two career events…also finished fifth at the Cleveland Golf at Palmetto…his final round 65 brought him to an even par 210 for the tournament…had opening rouund round 68 at NCAA Regional, tied for low round by a Tiger at the Regional in Tempe, AZ…had a 71.78 stroke average for the fall to lead the team by over a stroke per round…his score counted all nine rounds he played in the fall.

Summer 2012:  Had a solid summer that was highlighted by a 14th place finish at the Rice Planters and 13th place finish at South Carolina Amateur…also 35th at Carolinas Amateur…his Rice Planters performance included a final round 66, he finished at nine under par 279 for the event…shot 281 at South Carolina Amateur, he had two rounds in the 60s.

At Clemson 2011-12:  Red-shirted the season

Summer 2011:  Played in three major amateur events in the summer in and around the Carolinas…finished tied for 26th at the Carolinas Amateur with a 292 score, four-over-par…started 72-71 for a top 15 standing after two rounds…finished 36th at the Palmetto Amateur, including a 69 in the third round that was his low score of the summer…finished 15th at South Carolina Amateur with a 293 score…so he shot 292, 291 and 293 for his three tournaments.

Before Clemson: AJGA second-team All-American in 2010…ranked in the top 20 of the Golfweek/Sagarin rankings in June of 2011 just prior to his enrollment at Clemson…ranked as second best junior amateur in South Carolina in 2010 and 2011…a Carolinas Golf Association All-American…played in the South Carolina vs. Georgia Junior Challenge Matches in 2007 and 2009 (qualified 4 times)…member of Canadian-American matches in 2010 and 2011…MVP of the West Florence High School Golf team as a sophomore, junior and senior…2010 4A High School State Champion, he was runner up in 2011 as a senior…also the MVP of his high school tennis team in 2011…had outstanding performances in junior amateur events…posted a 4-0 record for the East Team in the Canon Cup Matches in 2010…finished in the top three at the Bobby Chapman in 2010 and 2011…finished 3rd at The Sea Pines Junior Heritage in 2010 and 2011…tied for first at the 2011 Bengal HS Invitational…2010 AJGA Exide Technologies Champion…2010 South Carolina Golf Association Junior Champion…won the 2010 Blade in the South Carolina Junior Golf Association tournament…finished 14th at the Azalea Invitational and 15th at the South Carolina Amateur in 2011….born April 20, 1993 in Charleston, SC…parents of Steve and Janie Behr…majoring in finance.
