Clemson, SC – Former Clemson guard Will Solomon scored 20 points, all in the second half Thursday night to lead the Memphis Grizzlies to a 110-106 victory over the Miami Heat. It was the fourth exhibition game of the year for the Memphis team.
Solomon, a second-round pick out of Clemson last year, had 20 points in 16 minutes. He made 5-8 field goals, 2-5 three-point shots and 8-8 from the foul line in his most productive game of the early exhibition season.
Solomon was second in scoring on the night for the Grizzlies. Starting center Lorenzen Wright had 22 points to lead the way. Shane Battier, former Duke All-American who competed against Solomon in college, added seven points and six rebounds in 30 minutes for the Grizzlies.
The contest was the first home game of the exhibition season for the Grizzlies. A crowd of 15,826 attended the contest.
