Oct. 6, 2000

CLEMSON, S.C.–The Sears Trophy, which is presented to the National Champion at season’s end, will be on display at the Clemson vs. NC State game in Death Valley this Saturday. This will be the first time in history that the trophy has been on display for a game at Clemson. In fact it is the first time it has been in attendance at any game involving Clemson or NC State.

The trophy is presented each year to the winner of the National Championship game. This year it will be presented at the FedEx Orange Bowl on January 3, 2001.

This will be the 29th different stadium the Sears Trophy has been present. The Sears Trophy has been present at regular season games since 1993. It is made of hand-crafted Waterford Cyrstal.
