Rowing Signs Nine in 2022 Recruiting Class

CLEMSON, S.C. – Head Coach Stephen Frazier Wong and the Clemson rowing program is excited to announce the commitment of nine student-athletes to its 2022 signing class.

“This is one of our best recruiting classes I’ve seen during my time here,” said Head Coach Stephen Frazier Wong. “Coach Nagorsen has done a great job identifying and bringing these students on campus so that they would fall in love with this university. We are counting the days until these new Tigers join us next year. They are as excited to be a part of the Clemson family as we are to welcome them.”

•  Rose Imbesi • Gwynedd Valley, Pa. • Majoring in business

“I chose Clemson because the moment I walked on campus I felt comfortable and at home! Everyone was so friendly and warm, and I could tell that they are so happy to be here and love the school and I wanted to be a part of that atmosphere.”

• Rebecca Pitt • Winter Park, Fla. • Majoring in mathematics

“I chose Clemson because I loved both the academic and athletic aspects of the university. The support that student-athletes receive is incredible. I also love the campus and downtown area. When I visited Clemson and met some of the rowers, I immediately could imagine myself on the team and being very happy.”

• Brooke Nowicki • Blaine, Minn.

“I chose Clemson most importantly for great academics. The campus felt connected and like a place I could be successful at. I also felt well aligned with the team values.”

• Camille Egger • Southlake, Texas • Majoring in nursing

“I chose Clemson because of the strong emphasis they put on success in academics as well as athletics. There was so much apparent support shown by the coaches for the athletes in both of these things which is somewhat hard to find. They were willing to accommodate me and my desired major – nursing – when not many other programs would, which was very big for me. Also, the priority of having a healthy and strong team culture was unlike any other program I had been around and was really cool to see.”

• Amelia Scherer • San Diego, Calif. • Majoring in graphic communications

“It’s been my dream school for years, and I couldn’t picture myself anywhere else.”

• Jordy Andrade • Atlanta, Ga. • Majoring in business

“I chose Clemson because it was impossible to go to Clemson and not fall in love with everything about it. The team atmosphere, the campus, the student life, you could go on and on about the amazing opportunities and environment that Clemson has to offer. They also have an incredible program for student-athletes, which ensures the individual success of each and every one.”

• Emmie Kelly • Carnation, Wash. • Majoring in health sciences

“I instantly fell in love with Clemson. I knew that I had found a family that would support me and push me to reach my goals. There is no other program with as loving and caring coaches and teammates. I chose Clemson because it feels like home.”

• Jane Upmeyer • Kirkwood, Mo. • Majoring in nutrition sciences

“I chose Clemson because I felt like it would give me the best opportunities for my major and the team atmosphere was incredible. I chose Clemson because it felt like home.”

• Isabella Kerr • Canyon Lake, Texas • Majoring in engineering

“I chose Clemson because of the positive environment and support on and off the water. I love the coaches and campus is absolutely beautiful. The school has so much to offer outside of athletics and has a strong community feel. The academic rigor is also really exciting.”
