Riley, DeSpain Capture Flight Titles to Conclude Fall Schedule

Tallahassee, Fla. – Two Tigers emerged as singles flight championships on the final day of the Seminole Showdown as senior Sydney Riley and freshman Ali DeSpain were crowned victors of the Lisa Gregory and Lori Sowell draws, respectively.

Riley knocked off Wisconsin’s Melissa Pick in straight sets in the flight title match while DeSpain held off Arkansas’ Kelly Keller, 6-2, 5-7, 6-3. Junior Laura Marti also notched a victory to close out the tournament weekend, defeating Miruna Tudor, 7-5, 4-6, 10/8.

With the conclusion of competition from Tallahassee, the Tigers wrap up their fall schedule. Clemson looks to open its spring competition season at home on January 17th, 2020 when it hosts Presbyterian and North Carolina A&T for the Duckworth Family Classic.
