Peggy Caple Named ACC Women’s Basketball Legend

CLEMSON, SC – Peggy Caple was named to the ninth class of ACC Women’s Basketball Legends by the league office on Wednesday. Caple, who played at Clemson from 1981-1985, is one of only two Clemson players ever with 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds, and is sixth in ACC history with 298 career blocked shots.

The Legends will be honored at the 2013 ACC Women’s Basketball Tournament, which will be held March 7-10 at the Greensboro Coliseum.

The Legends will be honored at the annual ACC Women’s Basketball Legends’ Brunch on Saturday, March 9 at 10 a.m., and then will be introduced to the Coliseum crowd at halftime of the first semifinal game on Saturday, March 9. The ACC Women’s Basketball Legends program honors both players and coaches from each of the ACC’s 12 schools who have contributed to the league’s rich tradition.

Caple joins Karen Jenkins (2012), Annie Tribble (2011), Donna Forrester (2010), Jessica Barr-Dennis (2009), Mary Anne Cubelic (2008), Shandy Bryan (2007), Janet Knight-Linder (2006), and Barbara Kennedy-Dixon (2005) as a Women’s Basketball Legend for Clemson.
