Pancake, Grewal to Play in US Women’s Amateur

Clemson, S.C. – Clemson’s Annabelle Pancake and Savannah Grewal will begin play in the United States Women’s Amateur on August 8 at Chambers Bay in University Place, Wash. Pancake and Grewal each appeared in at least eight tournaments for the Tigers in 2022-23.

Grewal will tee off at 9:01 am on Monday, while Pancake tees off at 2:01 p.m.

Pancake qualified for the US Amateur at Walnut Grove Country Club in Dayton, Ohio. She finished tied for fourth at a one-under-par 71. Grewal earned a spot as first alternate at the same tournament.

This summer, Pancake tied for third at the Texas Women’s Open with her teammate Melena Barrientos, and ran through the Western Women’s Am to finish second in the match-play portion. She also participated in the Epson Tour in French Lick, Ind., earlier this month.

After being invited to the August National Women’s Amateur in April and finishing 10th at NCAA Regionals, Grewal participated in the British Women’s Amateur and won the Suzanne Petterson LPGA Qualifier to qualify for the LPGA’s Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational alongside Pancake.

The low 64 scorers after 36 holes of stroke play will advance to match play. Golf Channel will broadcast all five rounds of match play, beginning Wednesday with the round of 64.
