Clemson, SC – The Clemson student-ticket allotment of over 2,000 tickets for Wednesday night’s Clemson vs. North Carolina game was exhausted at 12:40 p.m. on Tuesday. Students lined up overnight in 145 tents and other means of protection in anticipation of the student-ticket distribution on Tuesday morning. According to Clemson Ticket Manager Travis Furbee, everyone who waited in line got a ticket.
As of 8:30 PM on Monday night, 145 tents had been erected, four more than the number of tents occupied by students who lined up for tickets for the Clemson vs. Wake Forest game in January of 1997. That game 10 years ago featured a number-two ranked Clemson team (AP) against a number-two ranked Wake Forest team (USA Today) that featured Tim Duncan.
Wednesday night’s game at Littlejohn Coliseum will feature a Tar Heel team ranked fourth in the nation in both polls against a Clemson team that was ranked 16th in USA Today and 19th by Associated Press in polls released on Monday afternoon. Clemson has started the season 17-1, tied for its best 18-game start in history. Tipoff is at 7:00 PM and the game will be shown nationally on ESPN.
Furbee also said that less than 400 tickets are left for this Saturday’s game with Boston College.
