CLEMSON, S.C. – Ousmane Sylla led the Tigers to a 2-0 week last week, including a 4-0 win over No. 21 Louisville to earn ACC Offensive Player of the Week honors, the conference office announced on Tuesday.
In a 4-1 victory over Winthrop on Tuesday, Sylla recorded his team-leading sixth assist of the season. On Friday, Sylla led the Tigers with two second-half goals to spring Clemson to its second home top-25 win of the season, a 4-0 shutout of No. 21 Louisville.
On the year, Sylla leads the team in assists (6) and points (14), and is tied for the team lead in goals (4) and game-winning goals. Sylla has played in all 12 games for the Tigers this season. He’s currently ranked in the top-20 (19) nationally in total assists and in the top 100 (82) in points per game.
The Tigers now sit at 8-3-1 on the year, including 3-2 in ACC play and 7-1-1 at home. Clemson returns to the pitch on Sunday, facing off against defending National Champion and 18th-ranked Syracuse at SU Soccer Stadium in Syracuse, N.Y. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on ESPNU.
