CHAPEL HILL, N.C.–The 24th-ranked North Carolina Tar Heels defeated Clemson 6-1 in an Atlantic Coast Conference men’s tennis match at Chapel Hill, NC Sunday afternoon.
With the win, North Carolina improves to 9-5 overall, and 6-1 in ACC play. Clemson falls to 8-10 overall this season, and 4-3 in the ACC.
Clemson’s Ayrton Wibowo defeated #101-ranked Esben Hess-Olesen 6-4, 6-4 at number-three singles to claim the Tigers’ only singles point.
The Tigers will play host to Virginia and Virginia Tech this weekend in Clemson’s last home matches of the 2012 season. Clemson will play host to Virginia on Friday, April 6 at 2:30 p.m., and Virginia Tech on Saturday, April 7, at 3:00 p.m.
