The fifth-ranked Clemson Tigers suffered their first defeat of the 2015 season Saturday night at the hands of No. 2 Notre Dame. The Irish scored in the 50th minute and clung to the lead to win 1-0. Clemson falls to 3-1-1 with the result.
Notre Dame’s Matt Hobrowski scored the only goal of the match, his first of the season.
As a team, Clemson took five shots, all by sophomore Diego Campos. Notre Dame took nine shots. Clemson took eight corner kicks to Notre Dame’s 10.
Redshirt junior goalkeeper Andrew Tarbell saved four shots in a full 90 minutes of action.
Clemson’s road swing continues next week when the Tigers travel to Furman Tuesday night. The match will kick off at 7 p.m. More details will be posted to ClemsonTigers.com on Monday.
