CLEMSON, S.C. — The Tigers (7-13, 1-10 ACC) fell in a hard-fought 4-3 decision on Sunday afternoon to No. 42 Notre Dame (13-8, 6-4 ACC). After winning the doubles point, the Fighting Irish went on to win the first singles matchup, giving themselves an early 2-0 lead. The Tigers surged back as Spencer Whitaker picked up a victory at No. 6, 6-3, 6-4, and Teodor Giusca took line four, 6-4, 6-0, to tie the match at two-all. However, consecutive losses on Courts 1 and 4 clinched the Notre Dame victory. Jorge Plans Gonzalez finished shortly after the clinch, winning, 6-2, 2-6, 6-3 at No. 5.
