Tournament Home | Team Draws (PDF)CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – The 10th-ranked Michigan women’s tennis team downed Clemson, 4-0, in the Round of 16 at the ITA Team National Indoor Championships on Friday in Charlottesville, VA. Michigan won the doubles point, and then won three straight singles matches in advancing to play No. 3 Duke on Saturday in the Round of Eight. Clemson will play Saturday at 9:00 am against No. 23 Mississippi at the Boar’s Head Tennis Center in Charlottesville. Live Scoring is available at ClemsonTigers.com. The loss dropped Clemson to 6-1 on the season overall. The Tigers struggled to find any momentum in the match, as the Wolverines pounced from the start, winning at flights one and two doubles, 8-3 and 8-2 respectively. In singles play, Michigan took the first set in five of the matches, the lone exception coming in the form of Monika Kochanova at flight six in a match that did not finish. Keri Wong lost her first set at No. 2 singles, but bounced back to the in the second set, 6-4. She and No. 46 Brooke Bolender were in the early stages of their third set when the match was decided with Sarah Lee’s win over Nelly Ciolkowski, 6-1, 6-0 at flight four. Beatrice Gumulya lost for the first time in her fourth career match, dropping a 6-2, 6-1 decision to No. 36 Emma Bektas at flight one. No. 10 Michigan def.
