No. 14 Tigers Enter Spring Break on Seven-Match Win Streak

MIAMI SHORES, FL – The 14th-ranked women’s tennis team won its seventh straight match with a 7-0 decision over No. 63 North Florida (7-3) in a neutral site match at Barry University on Sunday. The Tigers (14-3) will take spring break in Florida and be away from competition until taking on a top-25 Georgia Tech team in Atlanta on Mar. 28. Clemson’s stellar doubles play continued, improving to 33-5 (.868) in dual matches overall, including 14-0 over the past seven matches, all wins. The Tigers have won the doubles point in 16 of 17 matches this season, and have four separate doubles duos ranked among the top 75 in the nation. Jessy Rompies and Yuilynn Miao took the first decision, 8-1, on court three to improve to 9-1 together, all in dual match play. No. 25 Beatrice Gumulya and Yana Koroleva earned an 8-4 win on court one, their ninth straight win together.  In singles, all six Tigers won in straight sets, led by Koroleva who won her seventh straight match and is 20-6 on the season. Tristen Dewar won her team-best 22nd match of the season, 6-0, 6-1, and freshman Joana Eidukonyte won her sixth straight and improved to 10-4 overall.
