COLLEGE PARK, MD – The tenth-ranked Clemson women’s tennis team pushed its winning streak to six matches with a 7-0 win over Maryland on Thursday in College Park. Clemson (17-3, 5-1 ACC) is now 28-3 all-time against the Terrapins (3-8, 1-5 ACC).
The Tigers swept all nine matchups, and won five of the six singles matches in straight sets. Clemson has now won three of their last four matches 7-0.
Clemson swept the doubles point, as Laurianne Henry and Estefania Balda won 8-1 at flight three, #37 Ina Hadziselimovic won 8-2 at flight two, and Caroline Magnusson won 9-7 at flight two.
The pair of Hadziselimovic and Wong is now 10-2 as a duo, as they played the first 11 matches of the year together.
No. 53 Keri Wong played at flight one, posting a 6-2, 6-0 win over Maggie McKeever. It was her 20th overall singles win of the year, and she is 16-3 in dual match play.
Ina Hadziselimovic, ranked #102 this week, posted an impressive 6-0, 6-1 win over Lisa Miller. It was Hadziselimovic’s sixth straight win, and her 20th of the year.
No. 76 Caroline Magnusson won her fourth straight match overall with a 6-2, 6-1 win at flight six.
Laurianne Henry took the win at flight four, 7-5, 6-4 over Jordan Hansbrough, and Balda kept the Tigers perfect as she posted a three-set win over Lexi Brand at flight five. She won the super-tiebreaker set, 10-8.
Next up, the Tigers will travel to Chestnut Hill, MA for an 11:00 am showdown with Boston College on Saturday.
