CLEMSON, S.C. – The Atlantic Coast Conference announced today that safety Jerome Carter III (ACC Defensive Back of the Week) and kicker Nolan Hauser (ACC Specialist of the Week) have earned ACC weekly honors for their performances in Clemson's 36-24 win at Florida State on Saturday.

The pair of selections gives Clemson 10 ACC weekly honors this season. The Tigers have now garnered a total of 602 ACC weekly awards since 1968.

The ACC Defensive Back of the Week selection is the first of Carter's career and the second by a Clemson player this season, joining Elliot Washington's selection for his performance at Cal. Carter's versatile performance last week earned him the selection over Washington, who recorded his second multi-interception game of the season in the victory.

Last week, Carter recorded five tackles, two tackles for loss, a sack, an interception and a pass breakup, becoming the first Clemson player to record a sack and an interception in a single game against a power conference opponent since All-American Jeremiah Trotter Jr. did so in a national-player-of-the-week performance against Notre Dame in 2023. Carter is the son of former Florida State defensive back Jerome Carter Jr.; with the performance, Carter matched his father’s career totals for sacks and interceptions at Doak Campbell Stadium, as only one of the elder Carter’s 2.5 career sacks and one of his three interceptions came at home.

Hauser added to his school records in his category with his fifth ACC Specialist of the Week selection of the season and the seventh of his career. He joins Sammy Watkins (seven in 2011), Anthony Simmons (six in 1995), Trevor Lawrence (five in 2018), Deshaun Watson (five in 2014) and Keith Adams (five in 1999) as the only players in Clemson history to garner at least five ACC weekly honors in their respective categories (including ACC Rookie of the Week) in a single season.

At 23-of-24 on field goals this season, Hauser is in the midst of one of the most impressive kicking seasons in Clemson and ACC history. The Lou Groza Award candidate leads the nation in field goals made (23) and total field goal yardage (917), and no player with at least 16 field goal attempts has a higher field goal percentage than his 95.8 percent mark. He is riding a career-long active streak of 13 consecutive made field goals.

Last week, Hauser went 5-for-5 on field goals and 3-for-3 on PATs and averaged 44.0 yards on two punts at Florida State. His five field goals tied his career high, and he pulled within one game of Greg Huegel's school record of 18 consecutive games with a field goal, set across the 2015-16 seasons. His five field goals Saturday covered 215 yards, two shy of the single-game school record (217, Richard Jackson vs. Boston College in 2009).

Clemson will return to the road this week for a meeting with the Syracuse Orange on Saturday, Nov. 7, at noon ET on ESPN2. Clemson's next home game will be at 12:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, Nov. 14, when the Tigers host the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. Ticket information is available at ClemsonTigers.com/FootballTickets.
