CLEMSON, S.C. — Oscar Valdemar Holm Bredkjær defeated Tyler Sabo at the number-one match to lead Clemson to a 4.5-1.5 victory over host school Ohio State at the Barbara Nicklaus Cup at Muirfield Village on Tuesday morning. The victory gave Clemson a 2-1 record at the two-day, three-match match play competition that was played at the site of the PGA Tour’s Memorial Tournament.

Hampton Roberts, Rich Wills and Biagio Gagliardi all won matches without trailing after a single hole. Roberts won at the number-two position over Jack Vojktku, 2&1, while Rich Wills never trailed in winning by the same 2&1 score. Gagliardi went 1-up win a winning par on the 16th hole, and went on to 1-up victory over Joe Wilson.

Daniel McBrien, who had won his first two matches, tied Ohio State’s Timotej Formanek.  McBrien trailed for just three holes. Formanek tied the match with a birdie on the 17th hole, then the players tied on 18.
