CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – North Carolina defeated Clemson with 25-15, 25-20, 25-14 scores in Chapel Hill to win the match in three sets.

The Tigers showed resilience throughout the match, particularly in the final stages of the first two sets. Clemson used kills from Lina Merz and Brianna Washington, along with a service ace from Audrey Armbruster, to stay competitive in the opening set. In the second, Addi Rains sparked a late rally with a service ace as Clemson trimmed a five-point deficit to 21-20 before UNC closed the second set with four straight points.

Clemson remained within six points at 16-10 in the third set and continued to battle behind Washington’s offense and a UNC service error. The Tar Heels ultimately pulled away late in each set to secure the three-set victory.

With the 3-0 loss the Tigers are now 6-9 on the season and 0-3 in conference play.
