CLEMSON, S.C., – Clemson Volleyball fell in three sets to the Pittsburgh Panthers on Sunday afternoon.

Anika Groom won the first point of the match for the Tigers with her first of five kills in the set, which led the Tigers. Despite that, though, Pitt put up a lopsided 25-16 score after hitting nearly .300 in the first set, and recording 5.0 blocks.

The visitors took the momentum into the second set, going on a 10-1 scoring run to open the set and force Clemson head coach Jackie Simpson Kirr to take a timeout. From there, Pitt continued on a 15-8 run to win the set 25-9.

Kirr made some lineup changes in the third set that helped the Tigers adjust to the prolific Pitt attack. At the technical timeout, Clemson trailed just 15-9 and were swinging .316 as a team. Ultimately, Pitt would go on to clinch the set with a 25-14 set score.

With the 3-0 loss the Tigers are now 8-14 on the season and 2-8 in conference play.
