SOUTH BEND, IND. – The Clemson women’s and men’s cross-country teams competed in the Joe Piane Invitational at Notre Dame on Friday morning. The women finished fourth overall with 143 points, and the men finished seventh overall with 221 points.
In the women’s 5K, three Tigers finished in the top ten. Nancy Cherop finished third overall with a time of 15:56.20. Silvia Jelelgo finished fourth with a time of 16:05.80, an impressive 14.20 second improvement from the Southern Showcase. Judy Kosgei finished sixth, running a time of 15:56.90.
Brendan Gomez finished first amongst the Tigers, running a time of 23:31.60 and placing 26th overall. Trey Sullivan finished 29th overall and second for the Tigers with a time of 23:54.60.
