CLEMSON, S.C. – Clemson Gymnastics co-head coaches Liz Crandall Howell and Justin Howell announced the promotion of Tommy Tsimbinos to Chief of Staff on Monday afternoon.

“Tommy [Tsimbinos] has been an invaluable part of this program since he joined in 2024,” Justin Howell said. “We are excited to elevate him to this new role where he can continue to help us push to get One Day Better. He continues to be a key part of our team, both inside and outside the gym, and this promotion is a testament to the value he adds to our program. We are so thankful for all he does to help us be the best we can be.”

Tsimbinos has been serving as the team’s Director of Gymnastics Operations since the fall of 2024, overseeing daily team operations, travel, the team budget and more. In his new role, he will continue these responsibilities and take on increased responsibilities in assisting the coaching staff with external relations and donor engagement. He will also work with Clemson Athletics administration on select department-wide initiatives.

“I could not be more grateful for the support from Justin [Howell] and Liz [Crandall Howell],” Tsimbinos said. “Working with this program is an honor, and I am so grateful to them and our student-athletes for their trust in me throughout our time together. I appreciate getting to work with some of the best coaches and gymnasts in the country every day and am excited about my new role within the program.”

Tsimbinos is a Clemson graduate with a strong background in both academic and athletic leadership. After completing his undergraduate studies at Clemson, he chose to pursue his Master’s of Athletic Leadership, which he completed in the summer of 2026. He also has a Master’s of Business Administration from Winthrop University.

Before his time with Clemson Gymnastics, Tsimbinos served as an equipment manager and operations manager for Clemson Baseball from 2019 to 2024. He worked directly with their team’s Chief of Staff to manage the logistics of daily administrative duties, plan team travel, manage team budgets, and perform other duties assisted by the coaching staff.
