TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Clemson challenged Florida State throughout the match but ultimately fell 3-0, with the Seminoles finishing the three sets with 25-22, 25-21, and 25-17 set scores.
The Tigers kept the opening set close through the final points, led by two kills and a block from Alyssa Irwin and Katherine Sandt. The pair helped the Tigers keep the second set close, falling 25-22.
Clemson continued to battle in the second set, pulling even at 17-17 after a Tiger timeout. Lauren Schneider went on a run after making the score 17-17 with three kills through the rest of the set. Despite her efforts, the Tigers dropped set two 25-21.
Despite being down 2-0, the Tigers battled in the third set, led by three kills from Anika Groom. She led the team in kills and points on the night. Despite this, though, the Tigers fell 25-17 in the third set.
With the 3-0 loss the Tigers are now 6-12 on the season and 0-6 in conference play.
