After opening on the road last week, the Clemson Tigers will open their home slate when they host the Georgia Southern Eagles on Saturday, Sept. 12. Kickoff at Memorial Stadium in Clemson is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on ACC Network.
Clemson will hope to rebound this week and this season in a fashion similar to its 2024 ACC title-winning campaign. That year, Clemson opened the season with a 34-3 loss to No. 1 Georgia but responded the following week by hammering Appalachian State, 66-20, en route to a 10-win season, a conference title and a College Football Playoff berth.
Clemson will attempt to earn its 100th victory in a home opener in program history on Saturday. Presently, the Tigers are 99-18-8 in their 125 previous home openers, as there were five seasons in school history (1896, 1897, 1899, 1903 and 1914) in which Clemson did not play at home. Clemson is 21-1 in home openers since 2004, as Clemson's school-record 21-game home-opener winning streak concluded in a Top 10 matchup last season.
