After opening on the road last week, the Clemson Tigers will open their home slate when they host the Georgia Southern Eagles on Saturday, Sept. 12. Kickoff at Memorial Stadium in Clemson is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on ACC Network.

Clemson will hope to rebound this week and this season in a fashion similar to its 2024 ACC title-winning campaign. That year, Clemson opened the season with a 34-3 loss to No. 1 Georgia but responded the following week by hammering Appalachian State, 66-20, en route to a 10-win season, a conference title and a College Football Playoff berth.

Clemson will attempt to earn its 100th victory in a home opener in program history on Saturday. Presently, the Tigers are 99-18-8 in their 125 previous home openers, as there were five seasons in school history (1896, 1897, 1899, 1903 and 1914) in which Clemson did not play at home. Clemson is 21-1 in home openers since 2004, as Clemson's school-record 21-game home-opener winning streak concluded in a Top 10 matchup last season.

WHAT TO WATCH FOR THIS WEEK

  • Clemson attempting to improve to 2-0 all-time against Georgia Southern. Georgia Southern is one of 46 all-time opponents against which Clemson is undefeated and one of 43 against which Clemson has a perfect record (no ties).
  • Clemson attempting to earn its 100th win in a home opener in school history. Presently, Clemson is 99-18-8 in home openers.
  • Clemson attempting to win its home opener for the 22nd time in its last 23 seasons. It would also move Clemson to 37-3 in home openers since 1987.
  • Clemson attempting to improve to 74-9 at Death Valley in the College Football Playoff era. Clemson’s current 73-9 home record is the fourth-best in the country in that span.
  • Clemson attempting to improve to 44-6 in nonconference home games under Dabo Swinney, including a 34-3 mark in its last 37 non-conference home games.
  • Clemson attempting to improve to 14-0 all-time against teams from the Sun Belt Conference.
