CLEMSON, S.C. — Oscar Bredkjaer will lead the Clemson got team to the Bryan Brothers Collegiate on Monday. The Tigers will be one of 16 teams in the field at the two-day 54-hole tournament at Solina Country Club in West Columbia, S.C. The 16 teams will play 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday.
Clemson and Louisville are the only ACC teams in the field, while SEC teams from LSU, Arkansas, Mississippi and host school South Carolina also will be in the field. Liberty, UT Chattanooga, Wofford, College of Charleston, Winthrop, Mercer, North Florida, UAB, Coastal Carolina and Michigan round out the field.
This will be the second consecutive year Clemson has competed in the Bryan Brothers Collegiate. The Tigers finished third out of 15 teams last year.
Bredkjaer tied for Clemson’s best player at this tournament last year with a seven-under-par score of 206 to tie for seventh place. He had rounds of 66-71-69. The native of Denmark was Clemson’s best player in the first tournament of this year, with a second-place score of 211 at The Inverness Intercollegiate last week. It was the best finish of his two years at Clemson.
Freshman Gabriel Holtz will be in the number-two position for Jordan Byrd’s Tigers. The native of Boca Raton, Fla. had a 222 score at the Inverness to finish 25th in his first career event.
Three natives of the state of North Carolina will be in the lineup for this tournament near South Carolina’s state capitol. Hampton Roberts had a 228 in the opening tournament and he will be in the number-three position for the Tigers. The native of Cary, N.C. is a transfer from the University of North Carolina and advanced to match play at the US Amateur this past summer.’
Rich Wills is a junior from Cramerton, N.C. in his third year as a starter for the Tigers. He won the 2026 North Carolina State Amateur this past summer with a 12-under-par score at Bermuda Run Country Club near Winston-Salem. He was third on the team in stroke average last year at 72.57, and finished 24th at this tournament last year with a 212 score.
Daniel McBrien of Holly Springs, N.C. and Apex Friendship High School will make his collegiate debut for the Tigers on Monday. He was ranked as the number-three player in the Tar Heel state last year.
Biagio Gagliardi, a junior from Rome, Italy will play the tournament as an individual. He had a 223 score for 54 holes at Inverness to open the season.
